    Description

In a great working condition this Philips B3X38A/01 AM-FM Shortwave This made in Holland early 60's tube radio is a US version with the Civil Defense symbols that were required up to 1963. The wooden case is generally in excellent condition. The finish is nice original satin and the dial glass, grill cloth, knobs and back are excellent. Have all knob centers. All the electric components work, and all the tubes are bright and functional. All bands work but an external antenna is required for shortwave and improves FM reception. The AM section uses an internal ferrite rod that rotates via the "Radio Compass" wheel on the top front. This radio is nice survivor and unmolested electronically. I tried to get a FM station on it but could not, just static. The single speaker provides nice clear mid-range and highs. Dimensions are 17"x9"x8" and the weight is 11lbs. 11oz. This European radio is a great collectors piece it represents the end of the tube era. When turning on need to wait around 3 minutes until tubes warning. Great piece to listening and enjoying.
