GOVERNOR ORVAL FAUBUS ~ 1957 LITTLE ROCK AR LICENSE PLATE CENTRAL HIGH CRISIS

Original 1957 (Pulaski County) Arkansas License plate, framed with engraved Brass Plaque dedicated to Arkansas Governor Orval Faubus as follows: "LETS" FORGET 1957 BUT "LETS' NOT FORGET OUR GOVERNOR, ORVAL E. FAUBUS. FROM TRACY - TREADWAY - YOUNG." ~ I believe with a high degree of certainty that "TRACY" was "Virgil (Tracy) Blossom, Superintendent of Little Rock (Pulaski County) public schools during the Little Rock Central High School desegregation crisis that began in 1957. - I also believe that "TREADWAY" was "O. D. Treadway," the State photographer that was assigned to Governor Faubus, that accompanied him on his many trips. - I am unsure of the third name listed, "YOUNG." ~ The "1" that is the preceding number on the plate, designates the plate as having been issued in Pulaski County, Arkansas.  ~ The plate and plaque are nicely framed under glass in a wood frame with wood backing. ~ Very good condition. ~ As far as what vehicle this plate was attached to, I am unsure. It could have been the Governor's Car, or a vehicle that they traveled in. Whatever the case may be, I feel that the plate must have some significance, as I doubt that they would have picked a random Arkansas plate to have framed, as a dedication to the Governor. ~ A nice piece of history! ~ The overall measurement is 15.75 x 11.75 inches. ~ This item will be superbly packaged to ensure a safe delivery. ~ All questions are welcome. ~ Thanks!
