VINTAGE KITTY CUCUMBER “GINGER HOLDING WATERING CAN” PORCELAIN THIMBLE.
It is from the “Victorian Garden Party” Collection.
The Kitty Cucumber Collection evolved from a favorite cat that artist Mary Lillemoe had as a child- a cat born, of all places, in a cucumber patch.
Many years later, upon first seeing Mary's whimsical sketches of her now famous childhood pet, Mary's 5-year-old daughter Annie proudly announced, "That's Kitty Cucumber!"
And with that out- of- the mouths-of babes exclamation, a collection was born.
Schmid was an international leader in fine gifts and collectibles, and transformed Kitty and her friends into finely handcrafted, hand painted collectibles.

What a great party for Kitty and her friends!
Ginger, the friend of Kitty Cucumber, is a bit saucy and carefree, but ways full of fun.
She is dressed in a cute Victorian style outfit-long dress, ruffled collar and hem of dress, and period style bonnet.
The bonnet has a pink bow.
She is holding a watering can with both hands.
She looks very sweet!
She has a cute facial expression with gleaming blue eyes and white whiskers.
It measures 1-3/4” high.
On the inside of the thimble, it is marked B. Shackman, 1992, with a Schmid sticker.
What a treasure for the Kitty Cucumber, or thimble collector.
Kitty Cucumber porcelain collectibles withstand the test of time, with avid collectors all over the globe.
Although vintage, the thimble was never displayed - from a smoke & pet free home.
This thimble could also be used as a mini figurine to display anywhere.
