not working correctly
.

The 2 meter part does work
, sort of! It does receive some signals, and will transmit with ok audio, but only at 25 watts out into a dummy load. When switched to the 440 band, it shuts itself down when the mic is keyed.
The back up battery
was removed as part of the troubleshooting process and will need to be replaced. It is included in a small envelope.
The original failure mode
happened when I was listening on 146.52 and suddenly the display went nuts...scrambled numbers and then went blank. Afterwards it would power up but not work correctly as described above.
The instruction manual and the service manual
are included. This unit does have the Keyer Unit and the Tone Squelch Unit installed and those instruction sheets are also included.
The built-in AC supply
died years ago...I did order replacement parts from DigiKey for it but never got around to rebuilding it. It is still installed in the unit with the power leads cut. The new parts are included as well if you want to rebuild the supply.
I bought this rig new in July of 1989 at a Flagstaff AZ Hamfest.
